South Boundary 22’

Back country camping is definitely my one true love. I started last year with short trips 1-2 nights no more than 80K ish. When that felt easy and like there wasn’t enough time to explore, I chose to do one big trip this year.

South Boundary Trail is not as maintained as your typical back country trail. You definitely need navigation, GPS or a map and in case of emergencies I would highly recommend having an SOS option as well. You will more than likely not see anyone on this trial, which might be my favourite part of the whole thing 😬.

Our itinerary:
La Grace
Carin River
Isaac Creek
Brazeau River
White goat (out of park)

What actually happened:
La Grace
Carin River
Isaac Creek
Arete
Fourpoint

My friend was having a really hard time carrying her pack, getting heat exhaustion, feeling sick, just everything at once, With little strength, and being assaulted by the sun all day with little to no shade we decided to ask a D to come to the rescue, and i took a good chunk of the weight from L’s pack. 151KM later and well over 70lbs on my back, we made it out with smiles and a beer to drink at the end, shout out to
SYC 😉. Beyond stoked to have completed that section of the trail, next year I plan on exploring more around the southesk loop, and white goat!
