Year end | Reflection

We are all in the New Year, New Us stage. With everything feeling like its a fresh start, everyone takes a look back at the last 12 months and evaluate if they had a good year or not, and we start thinking of ways to have a better year this time around.

I try to remember that humans like to measure things by time. Realistically we like to have something to measure so we know if were doing good or bad.
While this isn’t bad, we do put a lot of weight on this time of the year to reinvent, try new things and most of the time… fall back into the same old habits. For a long time i was stuck in the way things looked to others. Specifically I thought about how it would look like to X person if they saw me doing ABC.

It weighed heavy and took more of my energy and never served me. Less of this. Much much less of this. While I have set some fun goals for myself, a lot of them have to do with being away from my phone, spending more time with friends and experiencing life (as per usual, just more). I do have work goals for myself too, such as putting myself out there in a bigger way and printing more of my work to sell.

While i’m sitting here writing this after just having experienced such a beautiful NY celebration, I also caught covid. Which obviously sets back some of my plans. Know that plans can be fluid. The intention will always be there.

Oh January, you give us all the feels. 🍻
